‘Rogue Wave I’ is an acrylic miniature painting purely done from memories of summer days gone by.
‘Rogue Wave I’ is a painting done purely from memory. During my childhood I had the excitement and bliss of spending so many days down at the shore. It’s as if the motion of the waves embedded in my mind. ‘Rogue I’ is one of two acrylic paintings, the second of which I will attach a link below.
Summer holidays were the highlight of the year for my brother and I. Our uncle Andy would come from Scotland for six weeks every June and we would all head to the beach. So many fond memories looking back! These past times inspired both paintings. I remember the light, the blues and frothy crash of the waves. And often, there would be the one wave which outshone the rest, the Rogue wave. Seabirds fly above searching for nibbles from a fisherman’s catch.
‘Rogue Wave I’ is a special little miniature painting, a snatched moment in time for any seascape lover.
‘Rogue Wave I’ was created from Acrylic on primed canvas. My painting is signed and titled underneath and I’ve inserted it into a 4 x 4 inch mount. It’s fitted into a 9 x 9 inch off white wooden box-frame with a hanging hook on the back. The inside of the frame includes a 30mm foam-board spacer. This creates a recess between the glass and the backing board of the frame. As a result, it gives perspective to the painting. And as we are sustainably conscious here in the Gallery, we’ve picked the white core mount and the backing board which are both acid-free. This also means that it shouldn’t fade over time.
