Untouched by the wind, the ethereal glow of a dandelion clock is Still Standing. Years ago and perhaps now still, children used to blow away the seeds in so many puffs and imagine the time it took to clear them all. The black seeds signified wishes of prosperity and new beginnings.
As a child I always thought of these plants as magical creations and in painting one, I try to convey to the viewer its importance – standing bright against the darkness, to signify hope in darkness. Although considered a pesky weed, the dandelion clock is one of natures most beautiful perfections and wonderment. Next time you come across one make a wish and dream.
