Medium: Encaustic Wax & Acrylic on board
Size: 12 x 10 Inches framed
To capture the essence of the waves surrounding the Sligo shoreline, I have used the process of encaustic wax painting. It is a volatile process which acts like liquid when manipulated by a range of heat tools. A method of painting with so much experimentation and surprise. Explosions of blues, greens and whites mingle together to create a spontaneous effect of wild stormy waves. This is one of four framed paintings in a series, each one is created on gessoed board and sealed using a gloss varnish protecting the surface from dust.
We have a wide range of oil paintings, but if you would prefer something for a smaller space see our great range of limited edition prints – HERE
