New Classes – Starting September 2021
Artist and Tutor Póilín Mc Gowan from the Open Door Gallery & Studio will be hosting eight week classes for beginners/ Intermediate. Classes take place on Thursday mornings from 11 am – 12.30pm
Enjoy drawing from a beginner’s level or to enhance your existing skills.
There are limited places available for social interaction; this number is eight, as any more it would be difficult to engage with participants.
Build your confidence and potential in drawing using the mediums of Pencil, Charcoal and Ink. Classes are all taught through photographic reference and step by step demonstration
Eight Week Course:
Areas covered
- Observational drawing
- Mark-making
- 3D shapes in line and tone
- Contour Drawing
- Gestural Studies
- Detailed Studies
- Various Compositions
Subjects included are:
- Still Life,
- Natural & Man- made objects,
- Portrait drawing
- Full Figure.
- Buildings/Landscapes
Materials required:
Pencils (sets available) HB up to 8B
Willow Charcoal & White Chalk
Medium Putty Rubber
Sharpener
Cartridge Paper A4 and A3
Blender Sticks- Optional
Indian ink,
Kitchen Roll
Rags.
Jar x 2
A mix of Sable (soft) brushes- Rounds and Flats- A few soft brushes are fine.
